Lead (prospect)
A person or company that has shown interest in your product or service and could become a customer.
A lead is a prospect β someone who has shown interest in what you offer. This interest can manifest in different ways:
- They contacted you through a form.
- They replied to a DM or email.
- They attended a discovery call.
- They were referred by an existing client.
Not all leads are equal. Generally:
- Cold lead: barely knows you, not yet qualified.
- Warm lead: has shown interest, conversation in progress.
- Hot lead: ready to buy, needs to be closed.
Lead management means tracking each prospect throughout the sales process, from first contact to closing (or losing the deal).
